In the early history of Park City, two prospectors digging around in the hills exposed a vein of silver that caught the eye of George Randolph Hearst. He bought the claim and it soon developed into the most lucrative mine in Park City, helping to create the Hearst fortune. That mine was the Ontario Mine.
In 1984, the Ontario Design Company was established in the shadows of those Park City mountains. Building on a strong foundation of history and local pride, we have catered to a wide variety of clients from all parts of the country and from around the world. Creativity, dependability, and great service are the platform on which we have built our business.
Projects are varied and diverse. Since our inception, the majority of our work lies in Park City and Deer Valley. However, some of our projects have included more unique endeavors in Jackson, Wyoming, Holmdel, New Jersey, Rockport, Maine; Laguna Niguel, California, a Fishing Lodge in Idaho, and restaurants in Nova Scotia.
Design inspiration comes in varied forms and is timeless. We’ve seen tile work in an ancient Roman floor, bronze work in an old Austrian hunting lodge, wood paneling in a 14th century British Baronial hall – details that we’ve found ourselves using in the right application.
Our goal is to create an environment that reflects your personality and lifestyle. We offer an organized and expedient implementation of all phases of our involvement from coordination with the architect on the plans, to installation of the furniture and accessories – down to your bed linens and table top. You can literally turn the key and enjoy your new home…
